BOVET’s new Récital 28 “Prowess 1” represents a significant advancement in the age-old quest for accurate timekeeping. This world-premiere timepiece solves a quintessentially modern challenge—adapting to Daylight Saving Time (DST) as world travelers cross time zones.

While traditional world timers display 24 pre-set cities, the Récital 28 features an intricate system of rollers that can be adjusted to match any time zone, whether following DST or standard time. This first-of-its-kind complication allows the owner to easily accommodate the inconsistent DST schedules followed across the globe.

In addition to this innovative world time function, the Récital 28 packs an expanded flying tourbillon, perpetual calendar, and 10-day power reserve into its artfully finished 46.3mm case. BOVET has distinguished itself through such complex timepieces as the award-winning Récital 22 Grand Récital and Récital 26 Astérium. However, the new Récital 28 represents over five years of development focused on mastering world time mechanically.

BOVET traces its history to 1822, when the BOVET brothers were renowned for producing ultra-precise pocket watches. That spirit of innovation continues today. When standard time was adopted in 1884, the company solved the problem of synchronizing trains in different cities. A century later, it envisioned a watch that could adapt to our jet-setting lifestyle.

The resulting Récital 28 features hand-engraved bridges and rollers based on a Leonardo da Vinci design. Every component of the in-house movement is hand-finished using techniques like “angle rentrant” beveling. With a limit of 8 pieces per year, this blend of artistry and complexity reflects BOVET’s distinctive approach to watchmaking.
