Tesla has taken the wraps off an all-new iteration of the Model 3 Performance, promising their most exhilarating driving experience yet in an electric sedan aimed at daily use. Leveraging Tesla’s latest advancements in manufacturing and engineering, the reimagined Model 3 Performance looks to blend white-knuckle performance with uncompromised comfort and refinement.

Central to the redesign is a new performance-tuned chassis, which utilizes lightweight hollow components to cut mass while improving stiffness. Adaptive dampers make their Model 3 debut, adjusting ride quality in real-time based on conditions. The Performance also benefits from a more powerful electric motor—the Performance 4DU—which can deliver up to 22% more continuous power versus its predecessor. Peak power is up 32% and clocks in at a whopping 510 horsepower. All of this translates to stronger acceleration out of corners, with the rear-biased torque split maximizing traction. Upgraded 20” staggered wheels and tires keep things under control.

Further elevating the new Performance’s track capabilities is Track Mode V3, which integrates controls for motor, suspension, cooling and stability. With refined calibration, Tesla aims to deliver more predictable handling across different circuits. New settings for stability assist and regen braking reinforce the Performance’s sharpened reflexes.

Exterior tweaks are more than just cosmetic flair. The new front and rear fascias, spoiler and diffuser generate substantial aero improvements, reducing drag and lift. This combines to boost stability during aggressive driving. Inside, new Sport seats upgrade the driving position and support without compromising daily comfort.

Tesla has gone all-in on enhancing the Model 3 Performance’s duality, blending track heroics with uncompromised daily drivability. While lap times will surely tumble, the reimagined Performance may make an even bigger impact on winding back roads, where its improved feedback and composure can be readily enjoyed.

Pricing starts at $52,990 before any tax credits.
