Cadillac provided a window into its 2025 model year lineup recently. The luxury car firm’s next-generation model is an all-electric version of the Escalade which has been given the moniker ‘IQ’.

The Escalade IQ is the first all-electric full-size SUV to emerge from the automaker. It follows the Lyriq, the first all-electric passenger vehicle from Cadillac. That model was revealed about two years ago, and formally introduced in the spring of last year. At introduction, the Lyriq’s range was said to be 312 miles on a full charge. The range of the electric Escalade hasn’t yet been measured by EPA or WLTP standards, but Cadillac has estimated it to be 450 miles courtesy of an Ultium battery pack.

The Escalade IQ keeps the top-selling formula of the model intact. It’s powerful, with 750 horsepower available, and its 0-60 of less than 5 seconds is very quick for such a large and heavy vehicle. The exterior still boasts ‘king of the road’ proportions — it rides on 24-inch wheels and 35-inch tires — and the symbolic indications of luxury and arrival central to the brand’s appeal.

The IQ’s interior touches really flesh out that appeal for the new powertrain generation, and begin with a curved 55-inch LED display. As a dominant theme, it embodies the combination of extravagance and technological force which the company desires as its present and near-future definition.

Standard and optional equipment on the Escalade IQ includes four-wheel steering with Cadillac Arrival, Super Cruise driver tech, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, Low Ride Mode, and adjustable Adaptive Air Ride Suspension. It is built on GM’s Ultium Platform, and features Ultium Home bidirectional charging potential and Vehicle-to-Load offboard power.
