Billionaire Steve Pagliuca Seeking $9M for Massachusetts Home

Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca put this Boston-area suburban estate up for sale this month. The 3.98-acre property — anchored by a 2003-built French Norman-inspired manor with 15,344 sq. ft. of interiors — is located in the sylvan bedroom community of Weston. It appeared on the market in the second week of this month with an asking price of $8.999 million.

The setting surrounds the home with a forested privacy border. Within the confines of the property, lawns and gardens are allowed leisurely expression, and the grounds lay out the largesse of a large paver motor court in front, and a discretely positioned lagoon-style pool with a little companion house and stone-tile patio in back; at the edge of the property is a tennis court.

The home’s interiors are tasteful; there’s an occasional ostentation, with the formal dining room’s parquet floor and glistening wall covering setting the right tone for dinner parties. But such impressive displays are hardly representative of the living style generally. In the dayroom-kitchen-family room progression, a farmhouse feel is accomplished through tongue-and-groove ceilings, a lack of pretention and an off-white treatment throughout.

The home’s indoor amenities list is, of course, impressive. Fitness is given emphasis, and one wing contains a complex that includes an indoor pool, an upper-level weight room, and half basketball court; for more relaxed recreating, the house works in a home theater with tiered seating and a billiards room with a wet bar.
