Pop chanteuse Rihanna is back in the real estate news this spring with a listing. The Beverly Hills residence she purchased about two years ago is available for sale.
The singer-songwriter plunked down about ten mil for the property in question, so its recent revisit to the open market with an asking price of $10.495 million certainly wouldn’t appear to be an unreasonable figure, especially considering the renovation work completed. The home dates to 1939 — Rihanna seems to dig prewar ambience, as her other purchase in the neighborhood is a 1938-vintage trad — and features Tudor architectural elements that set off the abundant red brick that surrounds the home quite nicely.
Aside from the half-timbering, many gables and stucco that sketch the home’s exterior are many details valued by the prewar period fanatic, including leaded glass, Tudor-arch ceiling trusses with original iron, and what appears to be original, albeit refinished, pegged oak plank floors. Updates include the color scheme and stylized farmhouse treatment in the kitchen, a magnificently livable space that includes a family room-style lounge area, an indoor/outdoor transition room with a red brick floor, and sliding doors that open to the outdoor recreation area.
The outdoor space is one gem on the property; the master bedroom is another. In the former, a red brick pool and patio area concludes with a fire feature cabana, and stairs that descend to a garden dining area that’s truly lost in time. In the latter, a fireplace is flanked by oversized windows finished with window seats that overlook the former. What’s not to like for $10.5 mil?
Rihanna’s net worth is around $1.4 billion, according to Forbes.
