BMW rolled out the 2024 iterations of the X5 and X6 recently, touting the vehicles’ improved power, degree of ‘electrification’, range, and interior and driver-assistance technology.

The automaker continues to designate both models as Sport Activity Vehicles; the X6 is the crossover coupe in the pair, the X5 is taller and more SUV-like. Pricing begins with the X5 sDrive40i, which comes with a base sticker of $66,195 with destination, and tops out with the X6 M60i xDrive, which can be had from $94,595, destination included.

BMW designers packed some X-type visuals into the exterior of the 2024 X5, and revised the side panel air intakes; an illuminated kidney grille and revised headlamps are also on display for the upcoming year’s X5. As a whole, the front end looks more focused. Overall variant options for the model include the xDrive 50e, a hybrid that can produce 483 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The X6 shows off an new front end design as well, and standard M Sport kit as well.

The 2024 X5 and X6 come with a 3.0 six-cylinder or, in the case of the M60i, a newly designed 4.4L V8 that can propel the vehicle from a stop to 60 MPH in 4.2 seconds…though further testing may improve on that number. A 48-volt mild-hybrid system puts the frosting on the cake.

Inside the 2024 SAVs, BMW has installed a sculptural new curved display. New driver-assistance technology and optional chassis systems are also featured.
