The Southern California ranch of two-time Academy Award-winning actress Sandra Bullock is back in the real estate news this December. Bullock put the hobbyist farm up for sale at $6 million in the late summer, according to public records, and saw it into the sunset in the second week of November. The property changed hands for $5.6 million.

A working avocado and citrus orchard, the estate spans 91 acres in all. At the heart of it is a Spanish Ranch-style home dating to 1990; the house is designed around an enclosed central courtyard which features a tile floor and a water fountain.

The interiors of the home are pleasingly but not overbearingly rustic, with plank floors, blazing white walls and ceilings, skylights, and raw vaulted ceilings. The living room features a fireplace, and transitions to a satellite den with an arching window bench and a wet bar, while the kitchen boasts a hefty black La Cornue.

Other gems include the semi-vaulted indoor/outdoor living space — it features a wood-burning fireplace and opens onto the grounds through a broad set of French doors — and the flagstone outdoor patio, presided over by another wood-burner and overlooking the pool and the mountains beyond. The master bedroom, one of four in the home, opens to the outdoor living area and the views offered by the hilltop location, a splendid spot to wake each morning.
