Earlier this year, television personality Kyle Richards put her Aspen retreat up for sale with an asking price of $9.75 million. The alpine-inspired duplex, which was completed in 1979, features four bedrooms across 2,426 sq. ft. of interiors, and an intensely rustic living style by way of abundant river stone, pine, log supports and ceiling timber, earth-toned tile, raw stone in the kitchen, and an antler chandelier in the living area.

But Richards and real estate broker husband Mauricio Umansky weren’t planning to move out of the area when they put the house up for sale, they were merely looking for a residential change. They found it earlier this summer in a Craftsman-tinged Alpine contemporary, according to Dirt. The acquisition set them back $13.6 million.

The house dates to 1997, and contains four bedrooms and six baths across 4,382 sq. ft. of interiors. It sits on a .36-acre wooded lot with fine mountain views, and inside offers an even more intensely rustic living style than the outgoing house, with plank-finished floors, walls and ceilings, and the stone accent material featured heavily in the exterior used liberally in the open living area. Antler chandelier? Check.

Splendidly warm, to be sure, but the office slash library is perhaps more engaging; its ceiling is also finished in plank, but it features a series of large skylights that liberate it in a breathtaking manner. And then, of course, there is the exterior living area: a deck and master bedroom terrace, and the views they offer, are the highlights.
