Maurice Marciano Picks Up Newly Remodeled Home in Beverly Hills for $35.5M

Maurice Marciano, co-founder of casual fashion juggernaut Guess, has owned more than one over-the-top trophy estate in Beverly Hills.

He sold one to casino czar Steve Wynn, who’s had it on the market for quite a while now. Drake bought another from Marciano earlier this year, paying $75 million as he grew out of his youthful compound and its satellite properties in Hidden Hills. Marciano himself has one up for sale, a 10,969 sq. ft. modern that hit the open market a few weeks ago tagged at $27.5 million.

In Marciano’s inbox is this stem-to-stern renovation of a 1955 single-level perched on a .87-acre lot a bit north of the Strip. The home’s 9,300 sq. ft. of interiors and single-floor design gives it a whopping footprint, and it ambles in leisurely fashion into two extended wings which, eventually, form a crescent shape that enclosed a grassy backyard living area.

The interiors are occasionally striking. One of the home’s more engaging details is the ceiling in the main living area. A vaulted design, it is finished in natural-toned hardwood and inset with a quartet of narrow skylights. The kitchen and family room is a wide-open space; the former, with two storage-heavy islands and floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, is a natural for catering, and matched with a dayroom nestled in steel-framed glass opening onto the property exterior. Plaster walls and hand-combed limestone are among the materials used for the revision.

Other remarkable rooms include the master bedroom — white oak plank walls, floors, and backlit tray ceiling, and one of five suites with a private garden — and the dining room. A library and a theater round out a look at the interiors, while the grounds are occupied with garden-like landscaping, a large pool, and lounge areas geared for intimate time and gatherings.
