To close out the summer of 2022, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey — he best known for creating Survivor, she for appearing in Touched By An Angel — have put their Malibu beachfront up for sale. The couple is asking $22 million on the nose for the 3,829 sq. ft. property, which they offered as a rental back in 2020 for up to $100K per month.
The 1963-built Cape Cod-style contains five bedrooms and four baths. Its interiors are expressed as an enormously appealing series of spaces; they culminate in the destination room, a lengthy living area with a kiva-shaped white-painted brick fireplace and exposed beams and ceiling posts connected with original iron.
The master suite extends to incorporate a private sitting room with another whitewashed brick fireplace and a dressing room accessible through a set of antique doors, which get top billing in our photo series. It also features a unique indoor/outdoor matched set: an extravagant bay window occupied by a U-shaped sofa inside — the indoor component — and the sunroom living space that juts out beside it.
Down on sandy terra firma, a pool and partially covered terra-cotta tile patio is secreted away behind the elevated sun deck overlooking the beach.
Burnett’s current projects include Generation Gap, Beat Shazam, Shark Tank, The Voice, and, of course, Survivor.
