Chanteuse Ashanti listed her red brick residence in Nassau County, New York, for sale this month. The six-bed, six-bath home spans 5,345 sq. ft., and is priced at $2.198 million.
The property’s semi-rural two acres and cul-de-sac location in Old Westbury is one of its primary features; it is surrounded by lawn and forest. The two-level house cuts a fine figure as a local luminary, with a dramatically hipped roof and a grandiose Georgian entry; the latter features double doors, a column-supported roof extension with a barrel ceiling, and a massive multi-pane transom between the two.
The home’s interiors begin with a dramatic two-level foyer with four-foot natural stone tiles, a second-floor overlook and a glitzy crystal chandelier. Broad doorways open up options for iving, formal dining and family rooms; the latter boasts a dayroom off the kitchen, which boasts a crescent-shaped island and snack bar.
The home’s accommodations layout includes a pair of suites. One’s in the attic, and accompanied by a bathroom with a spa tub. The primary is a floor down, and joined by a bath that’s grandiose indeed, right down to ornamental stone columns and a crystal chandelier all its own.
Ashanti’s eponymous debut album reached topped the Billboard 200 chart in 2002. She repeated the feat with her follow-up studio release, 2003’s Chapter II. A trio of subsequent releases—save a Christmas album—landed in the top 10.
