Over the past couple of years, a growing number of motorcycle models with all-electric drivetrains have appeared. Bikes from Damon, ARC and Zero have all done their part to burnish the image of the non-gas burner while offering riders the hair-raising envelope-pushing they desire.

Italian startup Energica is another to join the fray — the firm’s gained enormous street cred via the track since they launched in 2014, as they’re been the only manufacturer bringing bikes to the MotoE World Cup since 2019 — and this summer they’ve announced a new model to follow up on a lineage that began almost a decade ago with the Ego model.

The new two-wheeled EV from Energica is the Experia, a bike it labels a “Green Tourer.” As its tagline suggests, it’s less track-oriented and designed more for following the sun, even if that only involves following it from one side of the city to the other. The bike’s powertrain is composed of a 22.5-kWh battery pack and a single motor.

Range is key to the Experia, and Energica proudly asserts it has the best range of any e-bike going. Its highway range is 130 miles, while in the city it can roll 261 on a full charge. When it comes time to plug in, the Experia can take advantage of Level 1 and 2 charging as well as DC fast.

Energica is taking pre-orders for the Experia now. Pricing starts at $25,880.
