North American buyers of the 2023 Audi S6 sedan and S7 hatchback will be able to elect the optional Design Edition package if desired. This is good news for drivers who like to exude a touch of drama on the road; the $2,500 package hallmark is a cosmetics treatment that adds black and shadowy chrome to the car’s exterior.
The upshot is that the S6 and S7 so optioned will come with black logos front and back, and a black roof; the latter, if tinted windows are elected, results in a nearly two-tone effect. Trim and accents are either rendered Cajun style or in glossy dark chrome.
Inside the cabin, the Design Package packs in a bit of additional softness — Dinamica gear selector and knee pads, among other components treated — as well as red contrast stitching to contrast with the brake calipers. A flat-bottom RS-level steering wheel is also included in the package.
Paint colors available for an S6 or S7 given the Design Edition look include metallic tones Mythos Black, Florett Silver and Tango Red, and the color used on the car selected for the shoot: Arrow Gray. Powertrain details are unchanged; a 444-horsepower mild-hybrid system built around a 2.9L V6 biturbo drives both cars.
