This 1920’s vintage Los Angeles residence has a unique ownership provenance: for three decades, it was the home of late Jeopardy host Alex Trebek. This spring, the rambling 1.46-acre estate in Studio City went to a new owner, closing at $6.45 million. The property had been on the market at $6.995 million for about three months when it sold.

The Mediterranean-style mansion begins with a porte-cochere, which leads to a large motor court. The home opens to a foyer that is an arresting evocation of space, and also sets a well-defined tone of breezy Mediterranean fantasy; a dual staircase rises to a second-floor overlook, itself presided over by a domed ceiling which is decorated with trellis-and-vine stencils.

Down on the first floor, an arched passage — part of a decorative arcade — leads to the shared living areas, drenched in warmth due to honey-toned hardwood. Special attention goes to the media room, which incorporates a library with a fireplace and a screening room into one space, and the covered veranda, one exterior living space in a property dedicated to outdoor living; a pool, tennis court, footpaths, gardens, lawns, a brick-surrounded in-ground spa, and a patio with a water feature can be spotted on a tour of the grounds.

A two-level guest house brings the accommodations count to five bedrooms and eleven baths.
