Trevor Noah, the host of The Daily Show with the eye for flipping big, hard-edged, recent-build modern homes, purchased a villa in Bel Air at the tail end of 2020, and paid $27.5 million for it. But it wasn’t for the long term, apparently. Noah initially listed it last autumn, hoping for $29.8 million, but cut the price to a get-out-quick figure of $27.5 million, his purchase price to the dollar. At the end of March, he accepted an offer of $26.4 million.

The home’s 11,375 sq. ft. of interiors are distributed across two levels, with six bedrooms and at least ten baths in all. Ornament in this case comes in the form of material and finish, a tasteful series of surfaces that includes architectural concrete, various woods and finishes, steel, and natural stone.

It’s a meditative living style with more than a hint of naturalism; the manner in which a stairwell is installed against a two-story bank of glass panes to merge the interior of the home with the landscaping — and a particularly remarkable example of a venerable tree — speaks volumes. Accommodations include five suites.

The little estate’s grounds measure in at .98 acres. A recreation and living area with a kitchen and zero-edge pool are listed among the home’s outdoor amenities.

Noah had previous sold a similarly impressive modern trophy in Bel Air, that one at $21.7 million.
