Back in the innocent days before viral occupation, singer and self-styled designer Kanye West decided Wyoming was the place to go to recharge and record…and, perhaps, retreat from microscopic nasties. To that end, West dropped $25 million or thereabouts in the Cowboy State in the second half of 2019.

One of the properties measured about 9,100 acres; the other, an auxiliary property about a hundred miles away or so, measured in at 6,700. Then, late last year, 3,888 acres of the second property — titled Monster Lake Ranch — popped up for sale again, priced at $11 million. This month it reappeared for sale at $11 million, with no major listing changes…in other words, still at 3,888 acres.

The property is designed around a pair of freshwater lakes—before West came along, it was a fishing destination—and comes with a variety of structures including a lodge, and livestock and equestrian facilities and outbuildings. It also features a go-kart track.

West’s use of the ‘other’ Wyoming property, Bighorn Mountain Ranch, has resulted in at least one record. Donda was released last year; it predictably shot to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. West followed up with Donda 2 last month. The album is only available on Stem Player, a music device that breaks down songs into “stems,” allowing for remixing on the fly.

West’s net worth is around $1.8 billion.
