Filmmaker Katharina Otto-Bernstein is the new owner of a 1966-built modern in Beverly Hills. Otto-Bernstein, who is the daughter of German mail-order innovator Werner Otto, paid $13.75 million for the home in the first week of January, according to Dirt.

Beyond the gated entrance, the home’s rigid façade, glassy warmth, and monolithic entry are visible. The residence’s interiors measure 6,472 sq. ft., with four bedrooms and seven baths in a single-level layout.

Texture and pattern is the rule of thumb inside this house; the business accumulates into a cohesive sense of style that is youthful, glossy, and very, very slick. The living area is a shimmering series of spaces, by turns abrupt and graceful, with a wet bar along the way. The office is particularly striking.

Natural textures (wood grain and figured stone) compete with a variety of textiles and finishes, which frequently compete with each other; witness the master bedroom’s headboard and drapery. It opens to the requisite 90210 city views — their drama enhanced by the glass balustrade that signals a sharp drop-off — lawn geometry, and pool and spa.

Otto-Bernstein’s net worth is around $4 billion, per Forbes.
