Actress Anna Kendrick took time out from the set of Alice, Darling this past summer to invest in this 1958-built Spanish-style in Hollywood Hills. The Pitch Perfect star tossed down $6.9 million for the four-bedder, which sits on a .33-acre hillside lot that commands a stunning panorama of cityscape as a backdrop. According to Dirt, the seller was Muse drummer Dominic Howard.

The home’s rambling footprint and predominantly single-level design gives it a linear quality. In the center of the home is a great room which is remarkably open; the pitched ceiling and city views greatly enhance the sense of space. The home’s vintage is exhibited in the oak plank floors and weathered beams, while a concrete fireplace accent wall hints at more recent fashions in interior design and adds a welcome dimension of the modern.

Another treat is the master bedroom. Here, steel-framed French doors and windows give the corner room the potential of genuine airiness, while opening the room to the pool and outdoor living area, which includes a hardwood deck, a fire pit, and a cabana bar.

At the other end of the home, a two-story section contains additional accommodations in the form of an attached guest wing. Bells and whistles on this property include a recording studio, a home theater with a star field ceiling, and a lounge — or a reading room — with a tastefully modest but entirely functional bar and a fireplace.

Muse has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. The band’s world tours routinely gross between $75 million and $100 million. Their ninth studio album is said to be in the works.
