Earlier this year, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and his wife, model Behati Prinsloo, picked up a 1923-built estate in Montecito back in March, paying $22.7 million. The couple wound up flipping it just three months later, according to Dirt; they conducted the sale quietly, and passed it on for $28.5 million.

The property, titled El Miraval, is a gem. The five acres of grounds form the basis of the living style, and it’s pure Montecito: fruit and specimen trees, a sweeping lawn, a guest house, a putting green, walking paths, water features, an ivy-covered pergola and arbor, a lower pool, dramatic mountain views east and meditative ocean views west, an idyllic driveway that crosses water. What’s not to like.

The house is a Mediterranean villa with an exterior in stucco that’s been painted a soft, earthy yellow; casement windows, Juliet balconies and an entryway with a keystone arch set the escapist mood with the garden-like landscaping presenting a broad variety of leafy support. The interiors have been updated, but period details abound, and included hand-chiseled ceiling beams, hexagonal tile and ancient narrow-plank oak floors, and stone fireplaces.

The outdoor living spaces include an open-air patio with a water features and a sheltered loggia with a stone wall and fireplace. Both offer views that follow the gradient of lawn down to the western border of the property, a serene vista indeed.

Maroon 5’s most recent album, Jordi, was released earlier this year. The band is currently in the middle of a world tour which kicked off in 2020 but faced pandemic-related delays.
