The full-sized Mercedes EQ sedan, the EQS, is soon arriving, and when it does it will come with a base sticker of $102,310 in the U.S. That’s about $8K under the entry-level S-Class sedan model.

The entry-level price is for the EQS 450+ with Mercedes’ Premium trim level, which includes heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, 20-inch wheels, a 3D sound system from Burmester, 64-color ambient lighting, and Driver Assistance and Surround View Parking packages. The EQS 580 4MATIC in Premium brings the price up to $119,110.

The series tops out with the EQS 580 4MATIC in Pinnacle trim, which includes massaging multi-contour seats, four-zone climate, and a number of rear-seat treats including headrests, USB-C ports, armrest with wireless charging, and power seats with memory.

Standard equipment for the EQS includes the EQS 580 4MATIC’s MBUX Hyperscreen — the much-discussed 56-inch plane that adorns the interiors of upper-level Mercedes models — and the 12.8-inch MBUX OLED touchscreen for the EQS 450+.

The MBUX system now includes Electric Intelligence-enhanced navigation as standard. The EQS navigation automatically plans according to best route and charging station needs, and can compensate for traffic and driving style, according to the Mercedes press release, as energy-use considerations change.

Additionally, the MBUX system’s user interface includes an AI-driven ‘context-sensitive awareness’ that learns the habits, behaviors and preferences of up to seven different users.
