Automotive tuner Brabus joined forces with Swiss watchmaker Panerai this year to develop an elegantly rough-and-ready example of functional wristwear. The watch is called the Submersible S Brabus Black Ops Edition; it was a propos that the watch saw its official reveal at the Monaco Yacht Show.

The shadowy look of the watch is the result of Carbotech, the watchmaker’s proprietary composite that is based on carbon fiber; Panerai unveiled it about five years ago. The watch features Panerai’s P .4001/s movement, and its skeletonized design makes it visible. The watch’s power reserve is 72 hours.

The watch’s darkness-cloaked look is enhanced by Super LumiNova coating for the indicators, and black ops tough guys will appreciate the rotating bezel for accurate underwater and explosives detonation scheduling.

100 examples of the Submersible S Brabus Black Ops Edition timepiece will be produced. The watch is priced at about 40K GBP; that’s around $55K at current rates.
