The Malibu waterfront of Alkiviades ‘Alki’ David is back this fall as a relist. The Greek billionaire bought the place back in 2019, and paid $19.1 million for it. It appeared on the open market this spring at $28.5 million, and that is where the listing price remains.
The lot is a familiar sight in Malibu’s Colony: a narrow rectangle lodged between similar narrow rectangles nestled between the PCH and the mighty green Pacific. The lot measures in at .24 acres, with a detached guest house and a courtyard entry with a water feature launching the living style.
The 1974-built contemporary’s exterior riffs on Mediterranean and modern styles. The 4,200 sq. ft. of interiors begin with a narrow, modern-style living area that harkens back to its build era: a wood-heavy space with linear emphasis that is illuminated by rows of skylights and a ceiling break. The staircase deserves special mention: metallic-textured, with hardwood treads and risers, a solid balustrade and LED atmospherics. Whew!
There are four bedrooms and five baths in all. On the beach side of the home is a large terrace protected by privacy walls, and decorated with some of the Alec Monopoly pieces that adorn the residence. The artwork makes it a unique proposition among other homes that dot the Malibu coastline. Alec Monopoly’s work popped up in a $600,000 Jacob & Co. timepiece recently.
David’s net worth is reportedly in the neighborhood of $3 billion.
