If there’s one contemporary watch designer that emphasizes the technical in its designs, it’s the house of Richard Mille. But this newest timepiece from the Swiss firm promises to set a new standard for visual complexity and comprehensive, context-specific utilitarianism.
With the indifference to brevity often shown by high-end watch designers, Richard Mille has named the limited-edition model the RM 60-01 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Les Voiles de St. Barth. The timepiece is homage to and standard equipment for competitors of Les Voiles de St. Barth, a race hosted by Richard Mille.
The watch’s design features a host of complications. A one-stop benchmark under sail, it packs in a compass, and can indicate the time in an alternate time zone. But the RM 60-01 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Les Voiles de St. Barth is limited to 80 examples.
