Beloved sitcom star and comedian Ray Romano dove into Toluca Lake this early summer and surfaced with a four-bedroom, 1941-built traditional with water frontage. Romano paid $6 million for the 3,807 sq. ft. house, which sits on a .98-acre lot.

The four bedrooms in this home are all en-suite; there are 5.5 baths in all. Interior details include some fine examples of period craftsmanship, including carved beams, custom molding, and fireplace design. The kitchen’s style is French country house, and the domestic fundamental transitions neatly to a luxury house amenity that should be standard: a buoyant alcove day room.

Outside, a 25-foot veranda draws the eye, but there’s also a brick patio, a pool, and a tennis court on the grounds, with languorous landscaping enhancing the sense of space on the 12th-fairway lot. A guest house augments the property’s accommodations.

Romano stars in HBO Max’s Made for Love.
