Tennis pro Novak Djokovic volleyed his condo in Miami Beach to a new owner this month. The Surfside residence changed hands for $6 million. Djokovic had owned the 2,421 sq. ft. three-bedroom unit for about four years when it closed. He paid $5.77 million for it in the spring of 2017.

The condo features a wraparound terrace that emphasizes the shape of the building; both are designed to complement, and be complemented by, the gentle line of beach and palms that serves as the lifestyle backdrop. Interiors use abundant glass and hardwood for a feel that is both buoyant and grounded.

The unit in Eighty Seven Park is one of two Djokovic originally owned in the Renzo Piano-designed building. In 2017, the professional athlete picked up a pair of units in Piano’s Manhattan building 565 Broome Soho, before adding another condo in Miami Beach, so he’s clearly a devotee of the Pritzker-winning architect’s work, or a savvy investor, and perhaps both.

His tennis playing is not a matter of surmise, as the current men’s singles world no. 1 just took home honors from Roland Garros—his 19th singles Grand Slam title. Competition for the most men’s singles Grand Slam titles intensifies, as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are just ahead with 20 each.

Piano also designed The Shard in London, which may be his most recognizable work to date.
