Updates for the 2021 Bentley’s Bentayga Hybrid PHEV were recently announced. For the new model year, the mild-hybrid alpha boasts new features that make charging more convenient.
Electric range is still EPA-rated at 18 miles, but European tests deliver a real world figure around 31 miles—a highly usable number for daily driving purposes. And, Bentley now makes it easier to match onboard navigation and charging stations and optimize pre-trip charging.
The new Hybrid Bentayga automatically defaults to EV Drive mode when starting up, with zero-emissions for daily commutes and errand-running. Additional modes available include Hold, which preserves battery energy, and Hybrid favors the E Motor over the ICE. At its most efficient, it offers a range of 536 miles, and 45 MPG.
The Bentayga Hybrid’s essential performance numbers appear to be unchanged for the new model year, with an electric motor and V6 working in concert to produce a total of 443 BHP, a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds, and a top speed of 158 MPH.
The changes on the way for the variant are part of a general model dust up for the series. Exterior revisions include a tightening of the overall shape, better definition of line, expanded side vents, rear spoiler, and front grille, new jewel tail lights, new exhaust pipes, and 22-inch wheels; interior changes include a newly designed dash with a high-resolution 10.9” infotainment touchscreen, a new digital instrument cluster, and a new wheel.
A First Edition of the 2021 Bentayga Hybrid will usher in the new model year at launch. It features special badging and interior cosmetics, and a series of options as standard: the Naim audio system, the Touring Specification, and the Front Seat Comfort Specification.
