A Malibu house owned by actor Liam Hemsworth and damaged in the California wildfires of 2018 sold this fall for $3.6 million, Variety reports. Hemsworth had owned the Ramirez Canyon residence for about five years, paying $6.8 million for it in 2014.
The 1951-build modern measures in at less than 2,000 sq. ft., but sits on an unusually large lot for even a far-flung corner of Malibu: 7.4 acres. As a result, the outdoor living area felt luxuriously discrete from L.A., a quiet green corner with a pergola-covered patio, broad swaths of lawn, gardens, timber steps, and a studio giving life to a tree-dotted and secluded lot before the fire lapped at the perimeter. The gated, meandering drive crossed water before ending at a gravel motor court.
Inside the home, a neutral tonal scheme, plentiful glass, and reclaimed plank oak and polished concrete floors were among the details. At the time of the sale, however, the home and its setting were all but gone.
Hemsworth recently starred in neo-noir crime thriller Arkansas alongside John Malkovich and Vince Vaughn. The film was released earlier this year.
