Comedian Russell Peters—no stranger to the Los Angeles-area residential real estate market—branched out somewhat this fall when he shelled out just over $5.5 million for a property which was, at one time, home to the Kardashian family…and, for a short time, asylum for O.J. Simpson before he embarked upon a certain well-publicized and iconic road trip. Rob Kardashian put the home up for sale in 2014, and sold it around two years later.

The listing details have the house as a 2019 rebuild, but what remains of the original Mediterranean-inflected suburban box appears to be limited. The home’s overall execution is in line with contemporary trends and doesn’t leave much to be desired.
