Susan Sarandon Gets Her Price for Manhattan Duplex

This summer, actor Susan Sarandon put her residence in Manhattan up for sale for $7.9 million. The attractive duplex co-op didn’t have a particularly long wait on the open market; it sold this month, at the asking price.

The building is located in the Chelsea neighborhood, and was completed in the early 1920s. Sarandon’s now-former unit merged a partial lower floor with a full-floor upper level, and measures about 6,000 sq. ft.

The living style is graceful and strikingly urbane. Ornament comes by way of natural-toned or subtly-enhanced hardwood, including floors—which appear to be a mix of oak and maple plank, depending on the room in question—as well as an arched set of steps that descent to the main living area, a plank fireplace surround, and a set of French doors in the master bedroom. Amenities include a wet bar and a library; the latter’s a knockout space.

A master balcony augments the living area, offering terrific views of the city.

Sarandon’s upcoming projects include Butterfly in the Typewriter, with Diane Kruger and Nick Offerman. She is also slated to star in the coming installment of the Bad Moms franchise, Bad Moms’ Moms.
