Well-heeled lovers of the television format take note: there’s a new pinnacle of design and technology—and, for its size, price tag—among small screens.

LG first rolled out the rollable-screen set as a prototype at CES 2019. A few tweaks later and the neatly retreating TV is going on sale in LG’s native South Korea, where it will fetch the equivalent of $90K.

With a screen measuring 65 inches, the set is far from the largest available. The size could probably be described as ideal, however, as is the convenience of having a television with a screen that rolls away into an unassuming little rectangle of a base unit. It also uses LG’s Alpha 9 Gen3 AI-driven processor and self-lighting pixels for a stunning degree of detail.

A limited screen setting called ‘Line View’ has been added to the set in order to discreetly display music information. The settings ‘Full View’ and ‘Zero View’ speak for themselves.

Television lovers in the U.S. can expect to see the rollable LG for sale at select dealerships soon, but there’s been no word as of yet about whether or not the set will make it into stores in time for the holidays.
