Midas-fingered TV program creator Ryan Murphy has sold his contemporary modern estate just south of Los Angeles.

Murphy—who created American Horror Story, Nip/Tuck and Glee, among other series—accepted $10.7 million for the property, which sits on a hilltop in Laguna Beach, and overlooks one of the more idyllic beach community landscapes on the West Coast.

This little estate is a beaut. Landscaping tiers, boardwalks and hedgerows riffle down the side of the lot to a sandy, tree-lined drive. There’s a lot of poured concrete, and a lot of green and growing to balance out all that chilly, industrial hardness.

The interiors of the main house—which was completed in 2000—feature a mix of traditional California beach cottage design elements and contemporary flash. The seven fireplaces in the home include one set into an accent wall finished with a herringbone pattern in hardwood, and another that strikes a 1960s feel, with a faux outcropping design, a wood vent, and a dramatically elevated hearth.

Amenities on the property include an owner’s suite with a spa, an office, a two-story pool pavilion, a two-bedroom guest house, an outdoor kitchen with barbeque, and vegetable and flower gardens.

Murphy is producing and directing the upcoming Netflix film The Prom; the musical comedy stars Meryl Streep, James Corden, and Nicole Kidman.
