Demi Lovato Buys New Build in L.A. for $7M

Just before the summer solstice, singer Demi Lovato sold the house in Hollywood Hills she’d had on the market, as a rental and a purchase opportunity, for about two years. The performer had been asking $9.5 million for the contemporary, but in the end let it go for $8.25 million, about five thousand less than her purchase price.

In the interim she’d been house-hunting, though, and this month emerged as the buyer of this property in Studio City. It’s another contemporary, and a very recent build; it was completed this year, making Ms. Lovato the home’s first owner. She paid $7 million for the privilege.

The contemporary farmhouse-style home sits behind a trio of gates—two for cars, and one for foot traffic—which are contrived out of wood and steel. Its front entrance is sheltered by a modest portico supported by stone columns.

Inside the 8,500 sq. ft. house, a semi-open layout and hardwood express the common area; dividing walls add a little definition to the space, splitting off the dining room from the kitchen and family room. The living room presents the centerpiece of the shared living area: a fireplace with a tile surround and a marble hearth in a hardwood plank accent wall.

The home’s amenities are considerable. All six bedrooms are suites. Additionally, a lounge with a wet bar, a theater, an elevator, and a gym are featured in this lifestyle home. The .37-acre lot boasts a BBQ station, a fire feature, and a detached guest house.

Lovato released the platinum-certified album Tell Me You Love Me in 2017.
