Tattoo artist and ‘LA Ink’ regular Kat Von D put her Spanish villa-style in Los Angeles up for sale recently. Von D is looking for $3.4 million for the house, a two-floor affair packed with period details.

The house went up in 1927, and reflects the dizzy, cash-fueled romanticism of the decade; the turret entrance is a knockout, and the architectural flourish is a mightily grand statement that makes this house stand out in its neighborhood. In its day, it was a very flashy house, and over the years renovations have been carried out with an eye to preserving the original feel of the home.

The interiors begin with a rotunda foyer floored with original inlaid tile; a hand-painted tile centerpiece should stop most guests in their tracks. As the house progresses, the series of period details continues, with the tile continuing, but varying; a graceful staircase with a wrought-iron balustrade, broadly expressive arches, French doors, plank oak, tin ceilings, carved wood panels, and a fireplace with a raised tile hearth step are other features of this intensely warm, 4,150-square-foot residence.

The grounds feature lawns and groomed landscaping, as well as a detached casita and garage.
