BMW is planning on building 75 of these Gothic SUVs for the U.S. market. The automaker calls the variant on the X7 M50i the Dark Shadow Edition. Barnabas Collins, pay attention. As a performance ride, the X7 M50i doesn’t need any marketing help. The M flavor of the penultimate Bimmer suburban beast can get 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque out of its 4.4L V8; heavy as it is, it can hit 60 in 4.5 seconds. An M Sport exhaust system helps.

The Dark Shadow Edition of the big rig is finished in a gray that’s really very fetching; BMW calls it Frozen Arctic, and it is enhanced by an interior that avoids the murdered-out look in favor of a black-and-blue treatment. Piano black and aluminum accents complete the scheme.
