Television personality Billy Bush—most recognizable for his stint on the ‘Today Show’—relisted his Encino retreat this summer, giving a trim to the home’s asking price to stimulate serious interest while he was at it. The property first hit the market last spring, when it was offered at $5.4 million. It is now priced at $5.25 million.

The five-bed, five-bath home was built in 1950, and features interiors that measure in at just shy of 5,400 square feet. It was designed in the traditional style by noted architect Paul Williams.

The home’s façade is distinguished by stone exterior walls, a steeply pitched, shingled roof, and a pair of recessed dormer windows. The interiors are warmly traditional, with wide-plank oak floors, a series of contemporary chandeliers, and neutral tones. A whitewashed stone fireplace in the living room adds a pleasing element of rusticity to the living style; its style is echoed by the fireplace in the master bedroom.

The kitchen features a diminutive island with a butcher-block cap, stainless appliances, and abundant natural light courtesy of the many paned windows that look out onto the lush landscaping.

The .85-acre lot is marvelously woodsy, with lawns protected from prying eyes by a heavy perimeter of mature trees. A raised patio attached to the main house, and a meandering stone footpath leading through the gardens to the pool and one-bedroom pool house, sets a romantic feel for the outdoor living style. The pool house opens broadly to the rest of the property via a trio of French doors.
