After only about a year of ownership, psychedelic rock pioneer and guitarist Carlos Santana has put his Hawaii escape up for sale for $2.995 million.
The estate is located on Kauai, the so-called ‘Garden Isle’; its setting looks suitably Edenic, with rolling green hills as a backdrop, and tropical forest framing the residences. A long driveway provides a luxurious preamble to the living style.
There are at least 4,000 square feet of interior space on the estate. The main house boasts a living area with a cathedral ceiling—and, presumably, solid acoustics—as well as a master bedroom with a similarly soaring ceiling. Narrow-plank hardwood and tile floors, and a mix of wood tones in the kitchen and in the home’s ornamental accents, constitute the look and feel of the house. A large outside deck with a spa and fire pit overlooks the property and ocean.
The guest house features a studio layout, with a bedroom/living area, a bathroom, and a kitchenette. Its outdoor living area boasts a lanai and a small spa.
