Pharrell Lists Striking Hollywood Hills Architectural for $12M

Pharrell listed his dazzling modern rambler in Hollywood Hills this month. The house is occasionally astonishing in its degree of craftsmanship, and also the degree to which architect Hagy Belzberg conjured it as homage to midcentury modern designs.

The glassy residence meanders along a considerable footprint—nearly 6,000 square feet of interiors in a single-story structure—with strident lines, abrupt angles, and plentiful hardwood for texture, natural evocation, and warmth; plank floors are given a natural-toned satin finish, a nice break from all the matte we see these days, and the master closet features beautifully figured hardwood.

Material choices are occasionally breathtaking—case in point, the slab marble master bath, which transported walls of stone to the home in sections, and assembled them faithfully on walls, floors and ceilings, even to the point of incorporating the medicine cabinets—and intended to represent a kind of finality or arrival. That they do.

The master bedroom features a gas fireplace with a raised hardwood hearth, and a glass wall that surveys city views. The glass pockets to make the master terrace part of the bedroom. There are another five bedrooms and six baths on the property, presumably including the one-and-one guest house.
