MLB third baseman Anthony Rendon—who signed with the Los Angeles Angels last December, for a $245 million paycheck—has a new 4,653 square-foot house near his adopted city. The property is in Newport Coast, and was acquired for $6.1 million by Mr. Rendon within weeks of landing his new gig.
More or less contemporary Tuscan in style, the four-bed, five-bath house was built recently, according to public records. The exterior is rendered in rusticated stone, with a pair of barn doors as entry gates, and a pergola over the garage.
The interiors are expressed in neutral tones, and with a contemporary feel that sports rustic embellishments. Fold-away glass walls open the home to a covered porch and a small courtyard, where an outdoor living area is completed with a large stone fireplace.
The property is the cul-de-sac lot of a quiet side street, giving the pool and main exterior living area a great deal of privacy. The lot measures nearly half an acre, and offers good views of the as-yet undeveloped local landscape.
