Following Trade to Oklahoma City, Chris Paul Lists Houston Manse for $8.3M

NBA star Chris Paul listed his contemporary estate in Houston late last month. Paul, who was traded this year to Oklahoma City, is asking $8.3 million for the Bayou Woods residence.

The house dates to 2013, and features modern exterior architecture, but interior materials and style, and the frontier-style pool house that augments it, makes it quite postmodern.

Limestone features heavily in the 10,000 square-footer. Blocks of it help define the exterior, and an accent wall uses it to surround a fairly spectacular double-sided marble fireplace. Warm plank flooring—walnut, perhaps—adds a pleasing visual complexity, and reclaimed barn wood contributes a large dose of rusticity.

The layout of the interiors is uniquely calculated; sitting room, dining room, wet bar and wine storage. Kitchen, dayroom and family room follow. Despite the measured layout and space definition, the living style arises from a very open, flowing feel, enhanced by the use of steel-framed windows.

Amenities include a game room and library, but the home theater-with-super-sofa takes the prize. There are five bedrooms and nine baths in the home; four of the bedrooms are en-suite, with private terraces.
