Celebrity chef Bobby Flay cooked up a great deal with the purchase of a Los Angeles-area home for $6.5 million.
The expert restaurateur’s new digs are located high in the L.A. hills in the celebrity-filled Birds Streets neighborhood above the Sunset Strip. It’s a contemporary trophy home, and it saw several price cuts by the time Flay made his offer.
The house spans 3,820 square feet. It’s a cool, angular home, packed with contemporary atmosphere. The minimalist four-bedroom residence’s tall ceilings, walls upon walls of glass, and plenty of dedicated indoor-outdoor living space are augmented with an ethereal treatment, masses of hard surfaces, and LED backlighting.
The central gathering space is a great room-style living room, dining room, and kitchen accented with a massive center fire feature and walls of retractable glass sliders. Unsurprisingly, the kitchen is a beaut; Calacatta marble, custom cabinetry, Dornbracht fixtures, and Miele appliances distinguish the catering-ready monster of a cooking space.
The property’s style continues outside, with a covered al fresco dining area, plenty of patio space, and a plunge pool with spa.
Flay also owns several New York properties, including a duplex he recently put back on the market.
