Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann recently augmented his real estate portfolio with the purchase of a modified Malibu Spanish-style.
Kreutzmann—one of the founding members of the iconic American psychedelic-rock band—purchased the fully renovated Point Dume house for for $4.9 million. What was originally a classic Spanish ranch has been updated to a hybrid Spanish and contemporary/trad; the exterior still boasts white stucco and clay tile, but the interior boasts a comfortable, modern treatment.
Stretching to 3,241 square feet, the residence holds four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Visitors enter through the wrought iron double-door entry; the layout transitions smoothly to a main open-concept common area with a dedicated dining space and a living room accented with exposed beams, a fireplace, and new herringbone-pattern wood floors. Pocketing glass doors open to the patio.
The kitchen is located to the right of the main living space and features white cabinetry, white marble countertops, and a farmhouse sink. Clad with walls of floor-to-ceiling glass panels, this room also opens to the tiered patio spaces, which boast a fire pit, rectangular swimming pool, and spa.
Kreutzmann co-formed the band ‘Billy and the Kids’ in 2014.
