The Hawaii retreat of actor, comedian, and singer Jim Nabors is off the market. The entertainer’s personal oasis sold for $12 million.

The “The Andy Griffith Show” actor lived on the property from 1992 until his 2017 passing. The home is situate outside Honolulu, and spans half of an acre of beachfront.

The house was built in 1950; it’s just a few doors down from the Doris Duke estate of the same vintage. It’s a 5,877 square-footer with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The buyer was likely drawn to the residence’s open-concept main living space with its sprawling views of the Pacific Ocean.

Highlights include the spacious lanai offering indoor-outdoor living; it’s right off the living room, and looks out over a very tranquil vista indeed. The backyard stands out, too, and features a cabana with a wet bar, a swimming pool, and 170 linear feet of ocean frontage.

The property was originally listed by Nabors’ trust for $14.9 million last summer. It eventually sold for about $3 million less than it’s asking price.

Nabors, a consummate entertainer, played comedy as Gomer Pyle and crooned his way to three gold records during his decades-long career.
