Billionaire investor Henry Kravis is looking for someone to take over ownership of his Colorado ranch. The right buyer with $46 million to spend on a wilderness getaway retreat is out there somewhere.

And what a property it is that’s waiting for that buyer: Westlands Ranch sports thousands of acres for a buffer zone. The escape is nestled in a forested spot on the Western edge of the state, and features dramatic views of the surrounding countryside.

The nearly 20,000 square-foot main house is a rustic mansion; its exterior architecture features an imposing façade distinguished by broad terraces, abundant stone, and a series of picture windows that culminates in a huge central bay window on the second floor. It contains just five bedrooms; all are quite large, but the master suite gets a great deal of square footage, his-and-hers baths, and dressing rooms/walk-in closets.

The shared living spaces are spectacular; the great room features a grand open-trussed ceiling that is grounded by a pair of stone fireplaces. The living room, with its gloss-finished ceiling and fireplace, is another standout. Wood and stone define the place, giving it an earthy, rugged look.

The property is a retreat, and so its list of amenities is extensive. A billiards room, games room, spa room, home cinema, and bar take care of indoor recreational options; outside, a round swimming pool bordered by stone draws the eye, and a golf course promises leisurely afternoons. Two guest houses, a carriage house and a caretaker’s house are also part and parcel of the 4,600-acre property. Golf legend Greg Norman owns a ranch in the environs.

Kravis is co-founded of KKR & Co. His net worth is estimated to be in the neighborhood of $5.4 billion.
