Demi Lovato Finds a Tenant for L.A. Home Marketed at $40K/Month

It was in the final weeks of the summer that Demi Lovato listed her house in L.A. for $9.495 million. The singer/songwriter had only owned the home for about two years when she put it up for sale, having purchased it in late 2016 for $8.3 million.

But a buyer has proved to be elusive, so Lovato has decided to rent out the property for the time being.

From the street, the home is exceedingly private; a stucco demarcation wall is augmented with a formidable black gate and screen. The interiors bear obvious changes to the original house, including a roof addition that opens up the living room nicely; the ceiling now rises through the upper floor. The room is further liberated by a retractable glass wall and a large clerestory overhead.

The interiors are quite spare; pale wide-plank hardwood is finished matte, and lighting is without ornament, the trio of kitchen pendants bringing a bit of industrial influence into the mix. It’s a fairly warm home despite the cool execution, its open concept eminently liveable. The second floor common area that looks down toward the living room is very inviting.

Views from the hillside property are lovely. The exterior is similarly atmospheric, working in a meandering footpath leading to a small cabana and a rooftop deck for outdoor relaxation.
