The Porsche Panamera has been a staple of executive Xmas wish lists for just about a decade now. Ten years of production will have elapsed by next year, so Porsche has a couple of new variants to freshen the model series for 2019. The Panamera and Panamera Sport Turismo both get the GTS-level treatment, keeping the model top of mind with potential buyers, and also keeping those pesky M- and S-series competitor offerings at bay.

The Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo fulfill all the prerequisites for appeal to the grey flannel set—an effective blend of sporty and stodgy design cues, lots of tech gadgetry, and enough power to make espresso before the next boardroom meeting unnecessary. Not as much juice on tap as the nearly $200K Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which pumps out 680 horsepower, but more than enough to sufficiently convey a baronial sort of professional intensity and success.

The Sport Turismo version of the Panamera made its way into showrooms for the 2018 model year. The GTS version of both cars pulls over 450 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque from the familiar 4L V8 biturbo, enough to get the car to 60 in 3.9 seconds. Top speed is 180 MPH for the Sport Turismo GTS; the Panamera GTS manages to eke another mile per hour out of the engine.

The standard equipment of the GTS Panameras is a long list of features which must be optioned on the regular Panamera. Getting top billing is the Adaptive Suspension Management System, tweaked to fit the model, which sits about four-tenths of an inch lower than usual. A full sport suite is also standard, and cosmetic features include plentiful Alcantara and flashy red accent stitching.

Expect to see the GTS Panameras available to test drive toward the fall of next year. Pricing will begin at around $130K.
