Yamaha has recently introduced its newest tourers, the Star Eluder motorcycles.

The Eluder is presented as the followup to the brand’s popular Star Venture, so riders can expect a similar riding experience. Better yet, the new Eluder features a number of tech updates like a stereo infotainment system and a large seven-inch LCD screen.

Like the Honda Gold Wing, the Star Eluder and Star Eluder GT motorcycles were built with long-distance touring in mind. An 1,854cc, air-cooled V-twin engine can go the distance, and there’s plenty of room on board for cargo. And, like the Gold Wing, the Star Eluder bikes boast a big comfort quotient.

The Yamaha may have the edge on the Honda tourer where power is concerned. Yes, the bike looks quite heavy, but Yamaha claims it can send 126 lb-ft of torque to the back tire at 2,500 rpm. Twin counter-balancers are employed to smooth the ride. Seasoned riders will also enjoy two throttle modes: touring and sport.

Yamaha’s 2018 Star Eluder is priced starting at $22,499, and available color options include Raspberry Red, Granite Gray, Impact Blue, Liquid Silver, and Raven.
