More Than a Wireless Speaker, Constellation Audio’s Leo Is a Convincing Sculptural Piece

Those with an eye for design rue the eyesore of modern technology in a refined space; when it’s off, we’d rather not look at it. Since most of us can’t imagine living without a TV or our beloved speaker tower, though, a few brands are looking to blend style and function, making at-home tech blend into its surroundings.

Constellation Audio is doing exactly that with the debut of its Leo high-end speaker. The new three-way speaker system offers incredible audio production, but it looks more like a contemporary sculpture than a piece of high-tech craftsmanship.

Gone is the basic black box or obtrusively clunky stereo tower. In its place is an audiophile-friendly tabletop audio system which honors the space it inhabits in sound and in style. Leo is a compact, 31-pound rectangular device with an angular, almost futuristic look that’s designed to blend into any contemporary space.

Listeners can also rest assured that the Constellation Audio Leo does, in fact, produce beautiful sound thanks to Class D amplifiers producing 560 watts of amplification, a 6” subwoofer, and a multichannel DSP. The new device is also equipped with AirPlay, Chromecast, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Constellation Audio’s new Leo is expected to be available later this year, and will be priced at around $5,000.
