There’s something undeniably alluring about a red sports car. In the case of this SP38, the result is both alluring and adrenaline-inducing.
Ferrari Design Center is responsible for the creation of this custom SP38. An unknown client with a love for racing ordered the luxe supercar. The engine setup takes inspiration from the twin-turbo mid-engine V8 of the 488 GTB, so the one-off vehicle should produce something close to the 488’s 660 horsepower.
Aesthetically, the design crew looked to the classic ’80s-era Ferrari F40, and that influence is on display in the small rear heat vent slashes. However, this custom build strays from the angular look of the F40, and instead sports smooth curves flowing from the front to the rear. The car’s narrow nose gives it a mass trajectory that favors the rear.
Of course, what really makes this one-off pop is its striking three-layer metallic red paintwork accented by carbon fiber side skirting. And inside? A fully custom interior.
The price for this special edition Ferrari hasn’t been disclosed.
