Don Cheadle, a.k.a. War Machine in “Avengers: Infinity War,” has made peace with the real estate market. The actor recently accepted an offer of $2.415 million for his L.A.-area home.
Cheadle and his partner, designer Bridgid Coulter, picked up the contemporary in Venice for $894,000 about two years ago. The home was listed this past January for $2.445 million. The couple had listed the home previously.
Extensively renovated and expanded, the 2,400 square-foot residence started life as an 800 square-foot bungalow; hard to believe, but true. The bungalow’s bones are still in there, but the architecture has changed somewhat.
The weathered look is due to rust-enhanced corten steel siding. The interior continues the modern-meets-industrial aesthetic with a mix of metallic and more rustic design elements. It’s quite warm, with matte-finished wide-plank floors, and a whimsical staircase design.
High ceilings, and an open-concept, loft-like living space give the home a nice sense of expanse. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, including the master suite complete with a sitting room.
For finishing touches? Radiant-heated floors, a gated entrance, and a rooftop deck that offers an inviting outdoor living space with views and privacy.
Cheadle, Oscar-nominated for ‘Hotel Rwanda,’ starred, directed, and co-wrote 2015’s ‘Miles Ahead.’
