Segway may be known for its now-classic, self-balancing two-wheeler, but the company has been hard at work on a number of other projects, including Loomo.

Loomo is an artificially intelligent Segway that serves as both vehicle and muti-use robotic companion. Outfitted with a powerful 329-Wh battery, the new two-wheeler is able to reach a top speed of 11 mph, and boasts a range of 22 miles.

In addition to serving as a practical method for urban transportation, Loomo can also function as a robot assistant that is equipped to recognize and respond to its owner’s behavior. Loomo boasts autonomous roaming capabilities and utilizes Intel’s RealSense sensors to read and negotiate its surrounding environment.

The device also comes with a 1080p HD video camera, so owners can also use Loomo to capture video. And Loomo has a five-microphone array that allows it to recognize and respond to voice commands, in addition to a 4.3-inch interactive LCD screen.

Interested customers can support Segway’s Loomo via Indiegogo. With a pledge of $1,399, customers can expect their own Loomo to roll up this spring.
